Jocelyn Lieb was born in Boston, MA, and raised in Staten Island, NY alongside her two sisters and one brother. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in The Biological Sciences from SUNY Buffalo in 2000, and her Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2004.

While at SUNY Buffalo, she was a member of The Golden Key Honor Society, Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, and graduated magna cum laude.
She went on to graduate in the top of her medical school class in 2004. During her medical school years in Boston, she became involved in exciting research at Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University, studying the genomes of specific benign and cancerous skin tumors. After graduating with her medical degree, she completed a one-year research fellowship where she continued her research studies. During this fellowship year, she had the opportunity to work with world-renowned dermatologic oncologist Dr. Thomas Kupper, seeing patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and other rare skin cancers at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Lieb subsequently returned to New York City and completed her internal medicine internship at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Following her internship, she was accepted into a research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she researched dermoscopy and confocal microscopy.

A dermatoscope is a combination of very specialized magnifying lenses coupled with polarized and non-polarized light, allowing dermatologists to see structures in the skin, rather than simply on the skin. This tool has allowed dermatologists to reduce the number of unnecessary skin biopsies on their patients. In 2007, Dr. Lieb began her dermatology residency at Columbia University School of Medicine. During this three-year training program, she gained experience in both adult and pediatric dermatology, as well as cutaneous oncology, rheumatology, cosmetic and surgical dermatology.

After graduating from dermatology residency and passing her board examination in 2010, she entered private practice in Ridgewood, NJ, and later became the Associate Medical Director of this large practice. During the six years at this practice, she gained even more experience with many lasers and devices, medical and surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and office management. Specifically, she has become a top provider in the laser treatment of acne scars, vascular lesions/blood vessels, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles, tan sun spots, sun damage, tattoo removals, unwanted fat, hair removal and scars.

In late 2016 she founded the Skin & Laser Center of NJ, LLC in Mahwah, NJ where she continues to treat her medical and cosmetic patients, and further pursues her interest in laser medicine. Dr. Lieb’s mission is to provide high quality dermatologic care using up-to-date medical information and cutting edge technology in an efficiently run practice. Dr. Lieb is board certified in dermatology, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the New Jersey Dermatologic Society. Dr. Lieb is a Staff Dermatologist at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

When she is not hard at work, she enjoys playing tennis, golf, spending time with her family, cooking, hosting dinner parties, exercising and traveling.
