Rejuvenate Your Skin with Microneedling and PRP in New Jersey
Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a minimally invasive treatment designed to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and promote a youthful, radiant appearance. At Skin & Laser Center of NJ, our skilled providers combine traditional microneedling with PRP derived from your own blood to accelerate healing and enhance results. This safe, effective procedure targets fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, large pores, and uneven skin texture.
Over time, the skin naturally loses collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and a rough texture. Additional factors that can impact skin health include:
Sun exposure and UV damage
Acne and post-inflammatory scarring
Hormonal changes and aging
Environmental stressors such as pollution
Enlarged pores and uneven skin tone
Microneedling with PRP addresses these concerns by promoting collagen remodeling, tissue regeneration, and improved skin elasticity.
Patients may consider microneedling with PRP when they notice:
Fine lines and wrinkles that deepen over time
Acne or surgical scars that remain prominent
Uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, or sun damage
Enlarged pores or rough skin texture
Desire for non-surgical facial rejuvenation with natural-looking results
If these skin concerns are impacting your appearance or confidence, microneedling with PRP may provide the targeted improvement you’re seeking.
Microneedling with PRP is performed by highly trained medical professionals who prioritize safety and precision. Treatment benefits include:
Enhanced collagen production and tissue regeneration
Accelerated healing due to PRP infusion
Minimal downtime, allowing patients to return to daily activities quickly
Improved skin texture, tone, and elasticity
Safe and effective results using your body’s own platelets
Our team develops a personalized plan to maximize results, often combining microneedling with other advanced skin treatments for optimal rejuvenation.
Learn More About Microneedling with PRP
Prior to your microneedling with PRP appointment at Skin & Laser Center of NJ, you’ll be asked to take certain steps, including avoiding direct sun exposure and tanning, as well as temporarily avoiding certain medications, including retinoids and acid-based products. At the beginning of your appointment, your provider will examine your skin, discuss your concerns, and take your medical history. From there, they will take the blood sample that will be used to obtain the platelet-rich plasma. This process is a simple blood draw and should only take a few minutes. The blood sample is then put into a centrifuge, which separates out the platelets, which are fragments of cells that specialize in healing wounds.
Next, your provider may numb your skin to minimize any discomfort, then run the collagen-induction device over the treatment area. Afterward, the platelet-rich plasma is applied directly to the skin. Before you return home, we will provide you with aftercare instructions, including avoiding sun exposure, tanning beds, and strenuous activity. Otherwise, you’ll be able to resume your normal activities and routine the day after your microneedling with PRP treatment. Many patients experience redness, swelling, mild bruising, and tenderness in the treatment area, but this typically resolves within a few days.
Patients can expect to see positive results within a few weeks of their microneedling with PRP treatment at Skin & Laser Center of NJ. This is because it takes the skin a few weeks to start producing new collagen and achieve noticeable levels of the protein. Patients can expect to see some positive results within two to three weeks, but a significant improvement in four to six weeks. For patients utilizing microneedling with PRP to address scars, it can take months to see a significant reduction in scarring.
Depending on the goal of your microneedling with PRP sessions, you may require multiple treatments. For milder conditions, two to three appointments scheduled roughly one month apart may be recommended. For more intense conditions like scarring, three to six sessions may be necessary. During your initial consultation, your provider will work with you to develop a treatment plan that will include the recommended number of treatments to help you achieve your goals. Your plan may also include other skin rejuvenation strategies, such as chemical peels or dermaplaning.
