Target the Root Cause of Acne with Laser Acne Treatment in New Jersey
Laser acne treatment is a highly effective, noninvasive solution designed to reduce active breakouts and improve overall skin health. At Skin & Laser Center of NJ, our advanced laser technology targets the bacteria and overactive oil glands that contribute to acne, helping to prevent future breakouts while promoting smoother, clearer skin. Treatments are quick, precise, and suitable for patients of all ages who want to address both current acne and the long-term effects it can leave behind.
Acne develops when hair follicles become clogged with excess oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Contributing factors include:
Hormonal fluctuations that increase oil production
Genetics, which may make some individuals more prone to breakouts
Stress and lifestyle factors that exacerbate inflammation
Certain medications or skincare products that irritate the skin
Laser acne treatment works by targeting the underlying causes of acne, reducing bacteria and controlling oil production to help minimize both current breakouts and future flare-ups.
Patients often consider laser acne treatment when they experience:
Persistent or severe acne that does not respond to topical treatments
Redness, inflammation, or pustules on the face, back, or chest
Uneven skin texture or scarring caused by past acne
Desire for a safe, noninvasive treatment to improve overall skin health
If acne is affecting your confidence or causing discomfort, laser acne treatment at Skin & Laser Center of NJ can help restore clear, healthy skin.
Laser acne treatments at our practice provide benefits such as:
Targeted reduction of acne-causing bacteria
Regulation of overactive sebaceous (oil) glands

Learn More About Laser Acne Treatment
Prior to your laser treatment, you may be asked to take certain steps, such as avoiding tanning or direct sun exposure, avoiding medications that cause sun or light sensitivity, and remaining hydrated. Using broad-spectrum sunscreen is always a good idea to protect your skin, but is especially important in the weeks prior to laser acne treatment.
Your provider will begin your appointment by cleaning your skin. After this first step, a prescription gel may be applied to the treatment areas. You’ll be asked to wait between 30 and 120 minutes before the solution is removed with saline. During this time, you can read, watch a show on an iPad, or catch up on emails. After the solution has been wiped away, you will be given goggles to protect your eyes. The treated skin is then exposed to light. Some patients report a slight burning or stinging sensation during this step, but the experience is generally well tolerated.
After a laser light acne treatment at Skin & Laser Center of NJ, you may experience redness, swelling, scabbing, crusting, inflammation, and peeling in the treatment area, but these effects will usually fade within a few hours to days. Most patients require multiple treatments to achieve the best possible results, and many patients also benefit from other acne treatments, such as medication. Laser treatment won’t clear 100 percent of a patient’s acne, but after multiple treatment sessions, many patients experience improvement of almost 80 percent. As part of a broader treatment plan that includes a home skincare routine, laser acne treatment at Skin & Laser Center of NJ can help you achieve smoother, clearer skin.
