As the first FDA-approved injectable filler, JUVÉDERM® has been smoothing unwanted facial folds and wrinkles for nearly 20 years. This noninvasive dermal filler is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that keeps your skin soft and hydrated. Our bodies tend to produce less hyaluronic acid with age, and the resulting reduced volume can accentuate lines and wrinkles. Fortunately, the team at Skin & Laser Center of NJ can help replenish that lost facial volume with quick, safe, and effective injections at our New Jersey-based practice. The results of JUVÉDERM® treatments are visible right away, so you can return to your daily routine whenever you’d like.
Over the years, JUVÉDERM® has developed a reputation as a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that yields positive results. A quick internet search for “JUVÉDERM® near me” will return any number of medspas and other facilities advertising injections. While the procedure is relatively simple with few side effects, for the best aesthetic and safest outcome, patients should seek out treatments only from highly experienced medical and cosmetic providers with stellar reputations. There’s no substitute for professionalism and experience, especially when it comes to something as important as your face.

The family of JUVÉDERM® fillers has expanded to include several unique formulas, each with its own ideal treatment area. The injectors at Skin & Laser Center of NJ will work with you to determine which variation is best suited to address your unique concerns.
These are the available JUVÉDERM® fillers you can learn more about at Skin & Laser Center of NJ:
Prior to your JUVÉDERM® treatment, you may be asked to take certain steps, including avoiding non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, alcoholic beverages, supplements, and topical skin irritants including creams, gels, and serums. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early, as photos will be taken and a topical numbing cream may be applied.
During the appointment, your injector may begin by numbing the treatment area to ensure your comfort. From there, the dermal filler is injected via a fine needle. You may experience a slight pinching sensation, but the smooth consistency of the gel and experience of your injector should ensure minimal discomfort.
Though your entire appointment at Skin & Laser Center of NJ may take about half an hour, the injection process itself shouldn’t take more than a few seconds. The positive results of your treatment will be visible right away, and you will be free to return to your usual routine—though it is important to follow aftercare instructions to maximize your results and accelerate healing. Some JUVÉDERM® patients experience temporary redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites, but these effects are mild and resolve within one week. Patients can take an Arnica or Bromelain supplement for seven days before and after their appointment to help mitigate bruising and swelling. These supplements can be purchased at our office following your appointment.
Avoid touching your face and applying makeup for 24 hours. It’s also important not to schedule dental work for two weeks before and after your treatment and to avoid flying on a plane for one week afterward. Exposure to direct sunlight or heat can irritate your skin, causing inflammation and delaying your skin’s healing. You will also be advised to avoid strenuous activity for several days following your appointment.
